Estimator Electrical

We are looking for a Mid-Level Estimator in our Rockville Maryland office. This candidate will support the bidding process by development and preparation of cost. Reports to the Vice President of Estimating.

Description:

Working knowledge of Trimble Accu-bid and Live Count estimating software.

Have at least 5 years’ experience in the electrical field, with at least 3 of that in estimating

Prepares cost estimates and bid documents for construction projects or services that are reviewed by management before proposal

Obtains comparative quotations for materials and subcontractor

Compares subcontractor proposals with required project

Assembles bid files including all development information that was utilized in preparation of the project

Coordinates all subcontractor’s costs, general conditions to ensure complete project

Develops RFI’s and Clarifications to ensure adequate scope and subcontractor

Understands Technical Portion of proposals to ensure all costs are covered and

Reviews Invitation to Bid (ITB) for all bids and follows up with subcontractors to ensure complete coverage of trades

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in a related field is desired, but not an absolute 1-5 years in electrical estimating or previous field work with a strong desire to learn.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular
• Ability to interpret project construction documents (plans & specifications).

Title:

Journeyman Electrician

We are looking for a Mid-Level Estimator in our Rockville Maryland office. This candidate will support the bidding process by development and preparation of cost. Reports to the Vice President of Estimating.

Description:

Electrical Installation of Residential and Commercial Projects.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and understand project contract drawings and documents.
• Install main switch gears, meter banks, duct banks.
• Install conduits, pull feeders, branch and risers distribution
• Build and install architectural light fixtures.
• Revises the building drawings to reflect changes made (RED LINE AS BUILTS)
• Ensures that all necessary NEC code requirements are followed for each project.
• Contacts and coordinates with appropriate County, State and local authorities for all inspections.
• Is available for 24-hour emergency situations.
• Keeps areas of work clean always.
• Must have all tools required to work
• Keeps accurate daily project log.
• Minimum 3 year residential or commercial work experience is required.
• Ability to pass Journeyman test * Must be able to pass a drug screen and have a good driving record.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Verifiable completion of a certified Electrical Apprenticeship Program or 6 years of progressive commercial or industrial electrical experience.

Title:

Mechanical Estimator-(HVAC, PIPING, Plumbing)

We are looking for a Mid-Level Estimator in our Rockville Maryland office. This candidate will support the bidding process by development and preparation of cost. Reports to the Vice President of Estimating.

Description:

Knowledge of Trimble Autobid Sheet Metal Software. (Will train the right candidate)

Responsible for a complete understanding of duct systems, including design, fabrication, installation, and how they coordinate with other aspects of mechanical systems and other components of construction activities.

Estimate cost to include, labor, materials, consumables, rentals, direct and indirect cost, etc.

Have at least 7 years’ experience in the mechanical industry, with at least 3 of that in estimating

Attend project site walk through and survey projects prior to bidding, if required

Develop relationships with General Contracting Estimators and Project Managers

Qualified candidates must be willing to eventually step up or jump right into a senior position.

Salary will commensurate heavily on past experience and current knowledge.

Prepares cost estimates and bid documents for construction projects or services that are reviewed by management before proposal submission.

Assembles bid files including all development information that was utilized in preparation of the estimates.

Coordinates all sub costs, general conditions to ensure complete project estimate.
